Commissioned to build a complete set of Mass Effect armour, I was given a set of templates to work from. It’s taken a few months of coming home from work and grabbing weekends here and there but it was finally completed ready to attend MCM London Comic Con October 2016.
Using templates and UVA foam mats the main body of the suit was cut out and shaped.
The inner torso was glued on one side using impact glue and on the other two 25mm webbing clips were added to provide easy access and stability.
Smaller clips and webbing was added to the wrist cuffs.
Templates of the bicep armour, it’s not quite the same as in the game but it does cover a lot more of the arm.
Thigh armour built up.
And most of the suit together, coming close to painting.
Some very nice Moto-X gloves were purchased, all the white writing was removed.
Webbing was added to hold the thighs in place and to bring the whole suit together.
The final job to complete was the N7 logo, this was made with thin layers of foam covered in Mod Podge.
